Biografie Margareth Adama (im Folgenden Madama genannt) wurde in Djakarta geboren, wuchs aber in Amsterdam auf. Nach dem Abschluss der HBS ging sie zur Rietveldakademie. Nach der Rietveldakademie studierte sie kurze Zeit kulturelle Anthropologie, Kunstgeschichte Südostasiens und Philosophie. Madama hatte verschiedene Galerien in Amsterdam und später in Amersfoort. Sie stellte unter anderem im Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam mit 2 Gruppenausstellungen 1978 und 1979 und einer Performance aus. Von 1980 bis zur Aufhebung im Jahr 1987 war sie Teil der Regelung für Bildende Künstler. 1986 gründete sie zusammen mit Fridi Martina Villa Baranka (1986-1988). Villa Baranka war ein Crossover verschiedener Disziplinen; nämlich Malerei/Theater/Musik und Abendessen, die thematisch mit dem Thema der Ausstellung verbunden waren. Eine transkulturelle Erfahrung und der Austausch von Erfahrungen, sowohl persönlich als auch politisch. Im November 2018 wurde das Archiv von Villa Baranka an ATRIA, das Wissensinstitut für Emanzipation und Frauengeschichte, übergeben, da Villa Baranka laut ATRIA von Bedeutung war.[1] 1996 gründete sie Capella Almadama in Amersfoort, ein Kunst- und Bildungszentrum (1996-2002). Hier wurden alle 6 Wochen neue Ausstellungen ihrer Werke mit Gedichten und einem Konzert eingerichtet, bei dem das Publikum die zu spielenden Gemälde bestimmte. siehe Ausstellungen In dieser Zeit gab Madama auch Workshops, unter anderem für die Business Universität Nyenrode, wo sie unter anderem einen Workshop über dynamische Führung entwickelte, bei dem die Teilnehmer auch malten und die Deutung der Gemälde etwas über ihren Führungsstil aussagte. Diese Artventures (eine Kombination aus Kunst und Abenteuer) waren auf Ziel, Zielgruppe und das zu erreichende Ergebnis abgestimmt. 2002 zog sie nach Maria Hoop. Hier hat sie eine Galerie, ein Atelier und eine Coaching-Praxis. Unter dem Titel 'Madama Modern Sacred Art from the Heart' hatte sie 2016 eine große Überblicksausstellung in der ECI Kulturfabrik Roermond. 'Kunst als Übertragung von Lebensenergie, eine Installation der Inspiration' Moderne Gobelins Madama hat ein Verfahren entwickelt, bei dem sie ungespannte Leinwände (Scrolls) oft monumentalen Formats auf beiden Seiten malt. Diese Leinwände können frei im Raum hängen, das Gemälde als Skulptur. Das aktuellste Projekt ist der Kleurentempel, bestehend aus 12 Leinwänden von 220 x 150 cm, eine Seite monochrom mit oft einer Struktur, die andere Seite ein 'Emblem' auf einem weißen Fond. (2017-2019) Madama lebt und arbeitet in Maria Hoop (L) und stellt im In- und Ausland aus. Bücher 2005 erschien das Buch Hemelpoorten beim Verlag Koppenhol. Es enthält 39 Gedichte und Abbildungen, die auch als Karten gedruckt sind. 2010 erschien Ich Bin Maria Hoop beim Verlag Elikser. Ein Buch mit Fragen an Maria. Die Antworten sind mit einer Erläuterung und Anwendung versehen. 2013 erschien De Nieuwe Stroming, Kunst als Medizin des Seins, Niederländisch-Englisch. 366 Abbildungen von Gemälden und ein Gedicht zu jedem Gemälde. Zu jeder Abbildung/Gedicht gehört ein IK BIN-Code, der in einem Schlüsselwort dieses Element zusammenfasst. 2016 erschien De TAO van het IK BEN, Splendor Solis, Die Kraft der Sonne in dir selbst. 26 Abbildungen, 10 Kapitel mit mystischen Texten, ein modernes Gebetbuch mit einem Vorwort von Prof. H. Madama has had several galleries in Amsterdam and later in Amersfoort. She has exhibited, among others, at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam with 2 group exhibitions in 1978 and 1979 and a performance. In 1986 she founded Villa Baranka (1986-1988). Villa Baranka was a crossover of different disciplines; namely painting/theater/music and dinners thematically related to the theme of the exhibition. In November 2018, the archive of Villa Baranka was transferred to ATRIA, the knowledge institute for emancipation and women's history. In 1996 she founded Capella Almadama in Amersfoort, an Art & Education center (1996-2002). Here, new exhibitions of her work with poems and a concert in which the audience determined the paintings to be played were organized every 6 weeks. She developed workshops, among others, for De Baak and Business University Nyenrode on dynamic leadership. These Artventures (a combination of Art and adventure) were tailored to purpose, target group, and the result to be achieved. In 2002 she moved to Maria Hoop. Here she has a gallery, studio, and coaching practice. Under the title 'Madama Modern Sacred Art from the Heart,' she had a large retrospective exhibition in 2016 at the ECI Cultural Factory Roermond. The most recent project is the Color Temple, consisting of 12 canvases of 220 x 150 cm, one side a monochrome often with a structure, the other side an 'emblem' on a white background. (2017-2019) Madama lives and works in Maria Hoop (L) and exhibits both nationally and internationally.
Madama (Indonesia) raised in the Netherlands is a multi-dimensional artist. After the Rietveld Academy and short studies Philosophy, Anthropology and Art History of South East Asia, she develops three disciplines: Visual Art, Music and Poetry. They are independent of each other but in performances the integration of visual art poetry and music takes place.
Madama has had several galleries in Amsterdam, most importantly she founded the first transcultural gallery in Amsterdam, Villa Baranka (1986-1989) which offered a stage for artists from all continents at a time when art form e.g. Latin America was not taken seriously and seen as ‘anthropological.’ Madama exhibited in her own gallery Capella Almadama, Amersfoort (1996-2002) plus gave concerts inspired by her paintings and poems. Now she lives and works in Paradama Da Esperanza, Maria Hope, Netherlands. She is also a business coach
Madama has a vast and very diverse oeuvre, paintings, mainly in acrylic but also scrolls i.e. 2 sides painted unframed canvases, which can be monumental paintings like sculpture, Ritual art constructions, i.e. mixed media and objects on a painting, assemblages, work on paper etc.
Madama has had exhibitions in Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, 1980, many galleries in The Netherlands and abroad, VS, Spain, Germany and a large overview exhibition in ECI Culture factory Roermond, ‘Madama Modern Sacred Art from the Heart’ (2016) Museum van de Vrouw, 2022
